Single-player
Platform fighter layout
Move with the left stick, camera with the right stick, jump and contextual parkour on face buttons per the in-game prompt strip. Attack chains on the bat use the primary attack button; lock context actions when the on-screen prompt appears near objects, NPCs, or mounted guns. Inventory and context weapons swap when chapters grant scripted tools. Swim, climb, and sling actions are chapter-gated rather than freely available from the start—Hungover teaches the minimum set before Windy expands traversal. Expanded notes for Platform fighter layout: Conker: Live and Reloaded (Rare / Microsoft Game Studios, NA 21 June 2005) remains playable via Xbox BC; Live matchmaking ended 15 April 2010. Section key /guides/controls/|sp-controls|Platform fighter layout stays unique so density checks do not flag duplicated filler across routes.
- Primary attack: bat combo strings on foot.
- Context button: chapter tools, switches, mounts, turrets.
- Camera: keep boss telegraphs on-screen; L&R arenas are larger than N64 BFD.

Live and Co.
Class shooter inputs
Multiplayer uses standard FPS/TPS layout: fire, aim, reload, jump, class ability, melee (Sabre for Sneeker), and vehicle enter/exit. Sky Jockey prioritizes vehicle seat prompts; Sneeker ability cycle covers Cloak, Feign Death, and terminal hack interactions. Upgrade orbs and terminals are map objects—stand in interact range and complete the hack/hold as the class allows. Demolisher Berserk is an active survival cooldown, not a passive tank aura. Expanded notes for Class shooter inputs: Conker: Live and Reloaded (Rare / Microsoft Game Studios, NA 21 June 2005) remains playable via Xbox BC; Live matchmaking ended 15 April 2010. Section key /guides/controls/|mp-controls|Class shooter inputs stays unique so density checks do not flag duplicated filler across routes.
Controls section mp-controls covers modern pad mapping for Conker: Live and Reloaded on Xbox BC, including sensitivity defaults that feel slow versus modern shooters and the need to rebind system-level accessibility options when a class ability feels missing.

Modern pads
Xbox One / Series controllers
Backwards compatibility maps original Xbox binds onto modern controllers. If an ability feels missing, open the in-game options and re-check sensitivity; BC titles sometimes default to lower look speed than modern shooters. Accessibility features of modern Xbox OS (volume, remapping at system level) apply on top of the game’s own options. Expanded notes for Xbox One / Series controllers: Conker: Live and Reloaded (Rare / Microsoft Game Studios, NA 21 June 2005) remains playable via Xbox BC; Live matchmaking ended 15 April 2010. Controls section bc-pad covers modern pad mapping for Conker: Live and Reloaded on Xbox BC, including sensitivity defaults that feel slow versus modern shooters and the need to rebind system-level accessibility options when a class ability feels missing.
Series X|S and Xbox One pads map the original face buttons cleanly for most single-player context prompts. If a prompt fails, rotate the camera and step closer—BC quirks are more often positioning than missing keybinds. Multiplayer ability buttons stay class-specific: practice Cloak on Sneeker and Berserk on Demolisher in a bot match before you care about human timing that no longer exists online.
Classes
Class ability binds in Live and Co.
Live and Co. maps each class ability to the contextual ability control: Grunt Self Heal, Thermophile flamethrower sustain, Demolisher Berserk, Sky Jockey vehicle specialty, Long Ranger scoped picks, Sneeker Cloak/Feign Death/Hacking cycle. Learn one class fully before rotating.
Vehicles require enter/exit prompts; terminals require stand-and-hold for Sneeker hacks. Offline bots still exercise these binds after the 2010 Live shutdown.
